Week of March 30-April 3

Hello Parents and Families,

Please find attached information for this week. The letter has also been emailed to each family.

Hello Parents, Guardians and Students,

As many of you are aware, I have taken over the Principalship of Ecole Central. Mr. Bennett will be working on preparations for the opening of the new school. I did not think my new role would begin in such an unprecedented manner but I want to reassure you that I will do my best to keep you informed along the way.

This letter will outline what you can expect during the next couple of weeks as well as provide you with a helpful link.

Information for March 30-April 3:

• In-class instruction has been cancelled and the school is not open to the public at this time.
• The office will be open for phone calls on Tuesday, March 31st from 10:30 am – 3:00 pm. For the remainder of the week, Mrs. Rouble and the administration will be available by phone between the hours of 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. You can also contact us via email at
krouble@prn.bc.ca and lcoteaubin@prn.bc.ca
• Please email Mrs. Rouble if you have any changes to your email address so we can ensure daily and weekly communication reaches you and your family.
• This first week back is a planning week for teachers, you can expect an email or a telephone call from your child’s teacher by the end of the week. The online learning plan is set to begin on Monday, April 6th. This Continuity for Learning Plan will continue to change over time as we all learn together. Thank you for your patience and thank you to all teachers and support staff for their work.
• Student supplies – Families will not be able to access the school to retrieve supplies this week. In the coming weeks, we will be setting up a system for pick-up of student supplies. Parents will be notified via email. This will be the same for any Hot Lunch and Québec refunds.
• Families can find district updates on COVID-19 and the ‘Continuity of Learning’ Plan at the District website: www.prn.bc.ca

As I mentioned, this week is a planning week for our staff. Our hard-working staff will be preparing the “Continuity of Learning” Plans for their students. These learning activities will not replicate the normal schedule of a classroom and will also look different from class to class. Our teachers will be working hard to create lessons and activities that will engage and enable students to continue their learning in different areas. We understand that this may be challenging for some families. We will do our best to ensure your questions are answered and your needs are met. You can expect an initial communication (email or telephone) from your child’s teacher by the end of this week.

If you have any questions you can call the school or email.

Thank you in advance for your patience and support. Together we are better- Ensemble ça marche!

Mme Côté-Aubin
